This is the stage I am currently in: unwilling to make a mistake and making more because of it.

The educational system is flawed in respect that students are taught errors are wrong (which they are) but not congratulated for taking the effort to try and realize. It’s a hard line to straddle however, because they have to be taught what is wrong or unacceptable while being told to try new things.

Try, even if it means failure, the biggest gain is experience at the end and the knowledge that it doesn’t work. That’s the reward always.
