Travel Day 5 – A Secret Garden
Day 5 was a blast as we decided to head to a garden hidden in plane sight. Once again, breakfast at the hostel first to begin the day and then we set off to the Iveagh Garden just below St. Stephens Green. This little garden was a true treat to walk through, as everywhere there was something to take a picture of and yet none of them capture the true beauty of the garden. I didn’t get many on my phone, but I have well over 250 on my camera that I can’t wait to look at on my computer. We spent the entire morning just walking the grounds of the gardens, and I urge you all to do so if you come to Dublin. Below is just a little taste of what I took.
After the gardens we headed over to St. Patrick’s Cathedral to take in the beauty that it has to offer as well as the history. The cathedral is a sight to behold. While the Christ Church Cathedral is a masterpiece, St. Patrick’s holds a lot of historic remembrance emblems, plaques and history as a church. Funny enough most of the afternoon was spent here before we headed back to the hostel for a nap before heading out for dinner.
We tried to get into the Stag Bar but we decided to go at 19:00 when the grill closed at 18:00. Shoot. Oh well, we ended up having dinner at Brasserie Sixty6 (which was pricy but good) then headed back to the Temple Bar a second time. Once more we were stunned with the great live music they hosted and could’ve stayed the whole night but after a few beers decided it was best to head back and get some rest. What will tomorrow bring I wonder?
